Sample Form - Application for Exchange of Indian Land 2

Total number of acres that the allottee is offering for exchange. This number is usually the same or greater than the number of acres the allottee is seeking to acquire. However, the value of the land is really more important as that is what will determine the amount of acres to be exchanged and acquired.

Number of acres of the above tract of land that is owned by the allottee. This information can be calculated from information found on the ITI Report. (See “Calculating Ownership in Equivalent Acres.”)

Percentage of the above tract of land that is owned by the allottee. The amount can be listed either as a ratio or a decimal. This information can be found on the ITI Report.

Legal land description. This information can be found on the ITI Report.

This number can be found on the ITI Report and on the List of Real Property Assets. Note: On this form, the “OS” is a prefix used by the Oglala Sioux Tribe (OST).
