Chris Knopf

Major Gifts Officer

Chris Knopf became the Major Gifts Officer for the Indian Land Tenure Foundation in 2013. Knopf is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure financial resources from individual donors to support the Foundation’s mission. He is also responsible for assisting Minnesota tribes on land conservation projects.

Knopf practiced environmental law in Cleveland, Ohio for several years with a major corporate firm before becoming the director of the Ohio office for a national conservation organization, a position he held for nearly a decade before moving to Minnesota. Prior to joining the Indian Land Tenure Foundation, Knopf implemented land conservation acquisitions for Dakota County in the Twin Cities Metro Area. Knopf graduated from Georgetown University with honors and received his law degree from the University of Virginia where he was a member of the Virginia Law Review.
